Antibes is a charming town located only 20km from Nice, with its beautiful beaches, historic town centre and the stunning Picasso Museum it’s definitely worth a day trip.
Plage de la Gravette is the most famous beach in Antibes, a small sandy beach with turquoise waters, located in the heart of the old town.
The historic old town is a maze of narrow streets, colourful houses and gorgeous flowers. Perhaps the heart of the old town is the Marché Proveçal, a bustling market filled with fresh produce, lovely flowers and local crafts. While you stroll through the old town, you’ll find many small shops and independently-owned restaurants and cafés.
A must-visit in Antibes is the Picasso Museum, an art-lovers haven. The museum, housed in the 14th century Château Grimaldi, was once home to Picasso himself. The museum features a collection of over 250 works by the artist - from paintings to sculptures to ceramics. You can continue your art exploration by walking the scenic Picasso trail which takes you through the locations where he lived, worked and found inspiration across the city.
